How to construct a bar graph in excel?
One
of our activity on I.C.T is to conduct a survey in Cafeteria. The aim of this
activity is to determine what year level, course and gender has the highest number
of normalista (student) having their lunch at cafeteria and we are required to construct
a graph.
There
are many kinds of charts and graphs and some are easy to understand while others
are tricky. They are different from one another because each one has it fairly
use. It can be used to show how thing
changes over time or compare items.
Since
we wanted to show what course, gender and year level have the highest number of
student who are staying in cafeteria. We used bar graph.
Here are the step on creating
bar graph in excel :
1. Open the excel then locate and open the spreadsheet
from which you want to make a bar
graph. Select all the data that you want to include in the bar graph.
2 .Include
the column and row headers, which will become the labels in the bar graph ( If you want different labels type them in the
appropriate header cell).
3.
Choose chart from the insert menu. Make sure that the column is selected under
the chart type. Select the sub type of bar graph from the display on the right
and click next.
4.
Make sure that the data range is correct and that column is selected in the
data range tab. Enter the title of the graph for the X axis and Y axis. This
will appear at the appropriate places on the bar graph.(Click the other tab and make any changes you want. Decide where to
place the bar graph. It can be placed on a separate sheet or it can be embedded
in the spreadsheet.)
5. Use the chart tool bar to make any final adjustments on the bar graph.(If the toolbar is not visible click view and
select the toolbar menu then select chart toolbar).
